The BEACHCOMBER 25

The BEACHCOMBER 25 is the latest Walt Scott design to be built by Marine Innovators of Clearwater, Florida. Twenty four BEACHCOMBERS have been built to date. At first glance you will note the relationship in rig to the very successful SANDPIPER 32 that Walt and Marine Innovators first introduced 3 years ago. The introduction of the Sharpie type SANDPIPER 32 was and still is a very refreshing addition to the market, for sailors who wanted a simple, honest yacht designed for the pure pleasure of sailing. So with this thought in mind we again called upon Walt Scott to come up with another all around Shoal Draft Cruiser a bit smaller, one that would accommodate a small family or couple at an affordable price, with all the attributes of the SANDPIPER 32, but more, we needed to fill the many requests that we have received from cruising sailors around the country. What Walt has de-signed has exceeded our expectations in many ways and we are sure you will agree after studying the brochure of the BEACH-COMBER 25.

Begin with the starboard profile of the BEACHCOMBER. The relationship of working rig is similar to the SANDPIPER in the re-spect that mechanically, they work in the same efficient and effortless manner, the SANDPIPER being a Cat Schooner, the BEACHCOMBER a Cat Ketch. The Wishbone Rig on either boat literally eliminates the hassle associated with today?s sail handling techniques.

The long waterline of the BEACHCOMBER hull is easily driven in all wind conditions and takes all but the roughest seas in her stride. Because of her full beam and stiff chine aft she has the stability necessary to put at ease everyone that sails her.

The BEACHCOMBER?S 1400 pounds of ballast is in the grounding shoe that runs down the centerline enabling you to take full advantage of thousands of miles of coastline, off limits to the so called Shoal Draft Cruisers generally advertised. You can run her up on a beach or into the flats without worry. The BEACHCOMBER?S underbody skeg and 15 inch draft was designed to take full advantage of coastal waters and islands.

The centerboard and outboard rudder are of robust construction, hydro dynamically designed, built and tested to withstand the use of many years of trouble free, enjoyable sailing.

Walt has taken full advantage of the BEACHCOMBER?S spacious hull and designed a raised deck cabin that further increases the interior volume while retaining a very graceful sheer.

The cockpit is self-explanatory as per drawings ? room to sleep under awning or bimini top, self draining with 2 large scuppers, large weather tight Iazzarette locker, extra large starboard cruise tank locker, safe bridge deck and a high comfortable coamings enclosing the complete cockpit.

The raised deck cabin of the BEACHCOMBER is a real treat when considering the extra area available for sitting and sunbathing. It is completely topped with non-skid for safety with a high molded toe rail.

The fore deck has a large working area and more space to enjoy while anchored, Climb out the forward hatch and relax sitting with the cabin as a backrest. A very comfortable and secluded spot with a molded toe rail for safety while underway.

The interior of BEACHCOMBER was laid out by Walt from his many years of cruising experience in smaller sailing yachts. (His decision was to not concentrate on full standing headroom, but to retain the graceful curves and lines). The proportions are proper for a very functional and pretty little yacht. It is also important to keep the weight low for stability in a shoal draft boat.

The BEACHCOMBER interior is one that can?t be fully appreciated by studying the draWings only. You enter the main salon through the wide companionway from the bridgedeck. The hatch is wide enough so that you can stand by the galley area to port wten at anchor and also have complete access to the cabin sole when going forward underway, no obstructions.

The raised cabin of BEACHCOMBER has increased her interior space to greater proportions than thought possible in 25 foot boat with a beam of 8 feet. She can sit 4 full sized adults in the main cabin with complete comfort. No deck cabin to cut into the back of your neck, no obstructions in your field of vision.

The galley area is complete with stainless steel in sink,Best Replica Watches alcohol range, large cooler and storage area with dish and cup bins behind. Teak faced drawers and cabinets complement the cook with plenty of room for pots, pans, and food stuffs.

Also in the main salon are 2 berths 7? long. One pilot berth to port with seat and tremendous storage at the foot. Under it is a teak faced drawer bank. The other 7 foot berth is a well designed convertable dinette. By raising the hinged table and filling in with the backrest, a small double or generous single is available to the more healthy of captain or crew.

Moving still forward, there is a hanging locker to port. The head compartment closes with a teak door which also closes off the main salon. This compartment comes complete with storage shelf and base for installation of your preference of head. The head area has plenty of stretch room and very good ventilation for the 2 forward ports are of the opening screened type. There is also a large, aft opening hatch above the fore cabin.

The fore cabin itself is large and airy. Again Walt has put in much thought to the problems normally associated with vee berths In the bow section of smaller yachts. He has made it possible to sit down comfortably with no obstructions, port and starboard. You or your crew easily can exit the forward cabin by stepping on the berth and then climb out to the forward deck. Under the center is a large area mold-in for tankage or storage. Forward of the vee berths is the chain locker with another teak door, allowing for easy access to the anchor rode. The finishing touch is storage shelves with high fiddle rails to port and starboard. This area has been designed in such a manner that only experience could conceive.
